This prosperous family business has come a long way since 1957 and is still growing every day.
In 2006 the irrigation farm Kranspoort was acquired for back grounding the smaller calves and making them ready for the feedlot. They run free on irrigated rye grass and kikuyu and learn how to eat from a feed through.
The business was established in 1957 doing business as retail butcheries and later extended to include wholesale meat supplier in Pretoria West in 1979.Eventually the retail butcheries were sold and the wholesale side was expanded. This was done year after year to it’s current level.
n 1993 the Bapsfontein farm was obtained and a cattle feedlot was started. It grew over time to what it is now. Currently feeding many thousands of cattle.
Care is taken to feed the cattle against precise formulas to reach an acceptable size and they are then slaughtered at Theron abattoir. The carcasses are then hauled to the wholesale business in cold trucks.
In 2024 The Abattoir was establishedWe operate a high-throughput abattoir capable of efficiently processing large volumes of livestock.
Our facility handles both our own cattle and offers custom slaughtering services, ensuring humane practices and compliance with all regulatory standards.
From here the carcasses are then transported to Pretoria Mutton Supply.
